Map of Elevational Subzones

This maps shows how we’ve broken up our LDUs into elevational subzones. I’ve tried to color it so that the subzones are roughly contiguous across the map–i.e. the pink arctic/alpine subzone represents the same sort of habitat from the High Sierras all the way to the North Slope. The “scrub” zone is still poorly and inconsistently defined. Detailed notes of the decision process will be available in the completed version. Here is a full-size TIFF (9Mb).
